The «Ukrainian Junior Water Prize» is the national round of the international competition «Stockholm Junior Water Prize». This competition as a popular part of the World Water Week is organized annually by Stockholm International Water Institute under the auspices of the Swedish Royal Family since 1997. The competition attracts thousands of entries from almost 40 countries.

The main goal of the competition is to attract youth to solve the problems of water pollution, lack of drinking water, its rational use, combining intellectual and creative abilities of young people to develop innovative solutions to current and future water problems. Ukrainian Junior Water Prize is a competition for students aged 15 to 20 who have developed school projects that can help solve major water challenges.

Ukrainian round of the competition is organized by the NGO «WaterNet» in cooperation with National Technical University of Ukraine “Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry of Environment, Water Information Center, NDKT urban economy.
